SACE CONDEMNS THE ALLEGED RACISM AT THE PRETORIA SCHOOL
The South African Council for Educators (SACE) condemns the alleged reports of learners being segregated on the basis of race at Curro Foundation School in Roodeplaat, Pretoria. We reiterate that this is the kind of behaviour that is not consistent with the values enshrined in our constitution and as such should be rejected as such by the peace loving people of our country.
In the light of these revelations the Council would send its team of investigators to look into this situation so that immediate action would be taken against the perpetrators of such action.
Our Teachers are expected to be leading the way in nation building and acting contrary to this is actually in breach of the code of ethics and as such those responsible should face the full might of the law.
We are calling also on the provincial education department to move swiftly in dealing with this matter.
